Healthcare reform & health equity

Setting a new standard of care, accessible to all.

Osarubu Health is a research, consulting, and advocacy practice working at the intersection of public health, economics, and policy — narrowing the gap in care for the African diaspora and health systems across Sub-Saharan Africa.

The gap we work on

Care that narrows from population to person, without losing anyone along the way.

Health systems built for the African diaspora and for Sub-Saharan Africa are too often designed around what's convenient to deliver, not what communities actually need.

Osarubu Health exists to close that distance — funneling broad, structural determinants of health down to interventions that are specific, accountable, and built with the people they serve, not just for them.

Our work spans dual terrain: strengthening how care reaches the diaspora in the U.S., and supporting the regulatory, clinical, and investment realities of operating health programs across Sub-Saharan Africa.

  • Health equity, structurallyEconomics, public health, and policy treated as one system — not three separate conversations.
  • Diaspora & origin, togetherWork that connects health outcomes in the diaspora with the systems people trace their roots back to.
  • Evidence before interventionResearch and assessment come first, so that consulting and campaigns are built on what's actually true.
What we do

Four ways we move health equity forward.

Each line of work feeds the others — research grounds the consulting, and the consulting surfaces the next question worth researching.

01

Consulting

Independent advisory work for organizations building health programs and systems for the African diaspora and Sub-Saharan Africa — from assessment through implementation.

02

Research & policy

Position papers and policy briefs on the health issues shaping diaspora and Sub-Saharan African communities, written to move conversations from awareness into action.

03

Public health education

Campaigns and public-facing content — including collaborations with artists — that translate research into messages communities actually engage with.

04

Medical education

Content and programming that helps close the knowledge gap for clinicians and communities working across these two health systems.

Who's behind this

Built on eight years across the health system.

Osarubu Health is founder-led by Fayokemi Ogunmola, a healthcare operations and public health professional based in New York with more than eight years of experience spanning insurance operations, public health research, nonprofit program management, and global health work.

That range — inside the system and outside it, in the U.S. and abroad — is what shapes how Osarubu Health approaches every engagement: with an operator's eye for what's actually implementable, and a researcher's insistence on evidence first.
